Why is my female Dachshund lethargic, won't eat, and has bloody stool?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) | Female | unspayed | 13 lbs

My female Dachshund has lost her appetite, is lethargic, is constipated and has blood in her stool. Her last normal consistency stool was green. She bleeding two days ago but was happy, I assumed she had come into heat. Upon other symptoms, I realised it must of been from her anus. She refuses to eat. I am taking her to a vet in the morning but am seeking advise on what could be causing these symptoms. She seems to be hunched over when walking. TIA

Poor Dixie. She could have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or she could have a pyometra. Definitely have her seen by a vet first thing in the morning.
