My dog's eye has bumps and he's scratching. Is it an allergy?

Hi my dog has these bumps around his eye! He has been scratching them they seem to bother him a little bit!

This could be an allergy. Put an Ecollar on Marley to keep him from rubbing his eye, as he could damage his cornea with his nails. You can make one at home or buy one at a pet store.     His eye looks a little swollen, and it could be from an injury to the eye or an eye infection. You need to take him into a vet for this promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Until you can get him into the vet, put an Ecollar on him to keep him from pawing it further, as he could scratch his cornea and cause more damage. Marley is so cute! It sounds like her eye is really bothering her, and this can be caused by an eye infection, allergies, or something in her eye. It's important to keep her from rubbing her eye with her foot because her claws can scratch her eye, potentially leading to an ulcer. There is a cyst like bump on my dogs eye lid..it seemed to have look like it burst earlier today and the eye looks better but yet still irritated around the eye. Do I need to go to the vet still?
Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Bumps on eye-lids can be cysts, but they can also be other masses like tumors. For this reason getting it checked is recommended. In the mean-time, I would check for squinting, moving away from your hand when you go to pet him on that side of the face, redness/blueness/whiteness of the eye-ball itself that is different from the other eye, or scratching/pawing at the eye. If any of these are occuring, then I would take Marley to a vet. If he isn't too concerned about it, and isn't squinting or moving away from you, and is only minimally pawing at it, then I would recommend getting an E-collar (you can pick one up from any emergency clinic without an appointment as it is now late in Australia), to prevent ongoing trauma to the eye which can get much much worse with scratching. I would then get Marley to your vet in the morning. Best of luck with Marley.

My dog's eye has a bump like eyebug in under eye part. And his belly is pinkish and paws. What do we do? Is it allergy? He is also gagging and his head is moving abnormaly.
It is difficult to appreciate the bump under his eye here, but perhaps there is some swelling. I would be concerned about a possible allergic reaction or infection. If he is gagging and moving his head abnormally these are concerning signs and could indicate he is having trouble breathing, which can occur with allergic reactions and would be considered an emergency. I would recommend getting him to the vet as soon as possible.

I dont know what’s going on with my dog’s eye , He was perfectly fine an hour ago and all of a sudden he has these bumps on his right eye , they don’t necessarily bother him , but he does get irritated when i try to touch the area or whenever i try t
It could be allergic reaction - it often starts at the eye(s) and face in dogs. You should apply a cold compress on the eye for a few minutes. Repeat that for 3-4 times. The swelling should slowly go down and dissapear in 8-10 hrs but if it is getting worse, or he wants to scratch the eye, please take Bleu to your local vets.

Recently this bump came up on my dogs left eye on outside edge of pupil. What could it be and how to treat it?
It looks like the conjunctiva is swollen and irritated. You can try some beandryl twice a day as well as some artificial tear drops to help flush the eye. If it isn't improving within 24 hours or if he is messing with it or squinting, I would have have your vet take a look at it. Your vet will be able to pull the lids back and get a better look at it and also make sure there isn't a scratch or ulcer on the eye. My 9 year old lab mix has a red bump under her right eye. It seems to itch or irritate her a little. She tries to scratch it with her paw or rub her eye area on something (blanket, carpet, couch). Is this maybe just a scratch? Or something more that
It definitely looks irritated and like there could be a possible cyst or growth there. I would have it examined by a vet in person so that it can be looked at more closely and treated as needed, especially since it's by the eye, bothersome, and been there a while. In addition, placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Midnight is a good idea as this will stop her from being able to paw at it and may reduce the irritation to it some.

This is probably due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality parasite treatment, then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). My dog has swelling around his eyes and bumps on his face. What is wrong with him? Are these allergies?
If this happened within a few hours, then allergies would be my first suspicion. However, it appears that there are areas of hair loss around the eyes and on the face. If this has been more gradual (like in the span of a week or more), then my top suspicion is demodectic mange. This is a microscopic mite that is normally found on the skin and can get out of control in certain conditions. You will have to take Koho to the vet in order to get this diagnosed and adequately treated. These conditions are usually quickly diagnosed and we can normally get a diagnosis and treatment plan at the first consult. I hope that helps and Koho gets better soon.

Ouch! This looks pretty irritated now. Ada could be having an allergic reaction to something, have chronic allergies that are starting for the season, or even have an issue with her immune system. I would recommend putting and e-collar (cone) on her tonight so that she can't rub her face and damage her eye and schedule an appointment for tomorrow with her regular vet. My dog german shephard scratching his eyes so badly
Poor Scooby! He could have severe allergies, an eye infection, or may have something in his eyes. He could damage his eyes badly by scratching them, and he needs to see a vet as soon as possible for this issue. Leaving this untreated can lead to vision loss if he scratches his eye badly enough. I would put an Ecollar on him now (I will put a link below on how to make one at home), and get him into a vet right away.
