Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | neutered | 8 years and 4 months old
Hi, we are concerned about our cat Max’s eye. Over time it has discolouration and the other eye has started with a few freckles. The vet has advised to monitor over the years, but I am concerned it is iris melanoma. Is there an easy way to detect vs. Melanosis? Thanks

I can understand your concern here. It is difficult to assess the entire eye via picture, but I can see the discoloration that is concerning to you. It does look more likely to be freckles; however, the best way to confirm that these are eye freckles vs melanoma is to have your vet refer Max to a veterinary ophthalmologist. Their expertise is invaluable in situations like this. I hope that this is just eye freckles and nothing to worry about with Max. Best of luck and take care!
