Kitten won't eat after food changes. Could it be an upset stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 11 days old

SHARE Hi, I recently tried to change my finicky kitten artemis' food from meow mix ( her old food) to a brand called whole hearted (new food) to try to give her better quality food but recently she refuses to eat any of her old and new food anymore. I've even tried fancy feast wet food ans she just tastes it.She uses the bathroom regularly and isn't behaving out of the ordinary but doesn't really want to eat any of her food. What can I do? Could she have an upset stomach from all the changes?

Yes, Artemis could have an upset stomach from all the food changes. It's actually quite serious when a cat won't eat, as if they go long enough without eating, they will develop a fatty liver. I would take her into a vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck.
