Why does my 4-year-old dog have grey hair and dandruff? Is it normal?

Hello, I have adopted a stray dog which is around 4 years old now. He is checked at least annually by his vet and he seems healthy. He already had grey hair around his nose and muzzles and on his belly. But last week, after I shaved his hair, he had dandruff underneath some parts, and then, I noticed partially grey hair that I never noticed before. And in most parts the hair roots have turned grey as well. Btw, he is generally a stressed dog. Is there a medical problem? Should I worry?

Gray hair is normal in a middle aged dog. As for the dandruff, sounds like Marley has some dry skin. Try giving him some fish oil supplements to see if that helps. He can have 1,000 mg fish oil containing 300 mg of EPA/DHA combined for every 30 pounds of body weight. I hope this helps!
