How to sex guinea pig babies and separate them to prevent mating?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

my guinea pig had babies almost a month ago. they’re soon going to have to be separated or else they’ll mate or reproduce. can someone please help me determine their genders? if the pictures don’t help is there any suggestions on how i could separate them until it’s very visible to see what they are? any small cages or things i could build fast? the vet here is asking for way too much money & i can’t afford it at the moment. thank you!

#1 & #2 look like females. I suspect #3 is female as well, but the area that needs to be seen is tipped downward. You can follow the link below then check #3 and recheck the other 2 for confirmation. http://www.pet-informed-veterinary-advice-online.com/sexing-guinea-pigs.html
