Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Long Coat) | Female | spayed | 7.3 lbs
Today while I was at work, ginger got her head stuck in between the bars of the baby gate. She was freed by the maintenance man and ran up to me. She then started shaking her head (she sometimes does this because she has ear problems, so I thought maybe that's why) so I cleaned her ears out. She ate her wet food dinner and has been drinking, had a bone, and went for a walk. She just seems timid, tired, and shakey. Could it be that shes just scared?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor girl!! It could be that she is scared or it could also be that she is in discomfort or pain because of what happened. I think it would be ok to monitor her now. However, if this continues and she is feeling the same way tomorrow, I recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hopefully she is just fine! Best of luck!

Poor girl. These symptoms do sound like she is a bit traumatized. Just continue monitoring her tonight and tomorrow for any neurological symptoms such as seizures, head tilting, falling over, ataxia (drunken walk), etc. Also check for any swelling around her head/neck. If seen then its best to see your vet for further treatment. However, she is likely just terrified and a bit bruised around her head. Let her rest tonight and do a cold compress on any sore areas that you see for 5 mins twice daily until she recovers. Best of luck with your pet Ginger and I hope that she recovers well. Take care! : )
