Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 9 days old | 6 lbs
Hello. I just adopted a 4 m/o toy husky. He is 6lb. The breeder stated he is doing well with potty training, going every 3-4hrs. However, he has been urinating every 10-15 mins in very small amounts. He is very well tempered and loving, doesn’t bark at all. Doesn’t appear anxious. Is it normal for a small dog like this to go this frequently? I’m assuming it’s related to stress, as we just picked him up yesterday and he’s from several states away (900 miles). Just want to make sure he’s not ill...

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This sounds normal for a young dog in a new situation. When you take Sparky outside make sure he fully goes. Puppies get distracted outside. Once he goes wait another 10-15 minutes to make sure he fully empties his bladder. Also, if he is drinking water frequently he will urinate frequently. Once he gets used to his new surroundings and new routine he will get on a better schedule. Good luck and kisses to Sparky!
