My puppy's kennel cough symptoms are worsening. Should I see the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 11 days old

I have 2 labrador puppies at 6 weeks. I suspect that the brown one has kennel cough. 2 days ago I noticed his breathing to sound like a 'snore' and at times see him gagging. I took them to the vet for their 5in1 shots, and the vet prescribed multivitamins for the brown dog since he was lethargic. Now, I notice that his gagging seems to be worse, he's more lethargic, and has thrown up a whitish saliva. Should I bring the brown puppy to the vet?

Yes, I think you should take her back for a follow-up if she is worse. She may need antibiotics if she does have kennel cough. A multi-vitamin is not going to hurt but it is not going to treat the kennel cough.
