My 18 month old shepherd/lab/terrier mix has white flakes coming out of his red, swollen, right ear which appears to be causing discomfort. Symptoms match yeast infection progressed into middle, maybe even inner, ear infection. I have antibiotics from previous vet visit (May 2019) for very minor skin yeast infection which vet said his body’s natural immune system was already taking care of, so I decided not to give him. Please advise at your earliest convenience. Thank you so much for your help!

Poor Jax. Oral antibiotics are not used for ear infections, this is due to the poor blood supply to the ear. He needs topical medication to treat his ear infection. You need to take him into the vet tomorrow to have these medications prescribed.
