My kitten is falling, seizing, and struggling to walk. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 21 days old

My kitten [f, 3 mos] is having limb problems. She sometimes seizes up in certain areas of the body, resulting in her falling over and being unable to walk. She took a small fall today, less than a foot, and fell into some grass. She seems in pain when I hold her a certain way, crying out with her eyes bulging. I suspect she may have FCV and/or limping syndrome. I cannot afford a vet.

Unfortunately, if Lila is having trouble walking or seems in pain, she needs to be seen by a vet. Issues such as neurologic or muscular problems, cerebellar issues, illnesses, disease, nutritional issues, etc are all potential causes which is why a veterinary exam is so important in finding the cause and providing treatment. Keeping Lila calm, quiet, and eating, and limit activity may help until you can afford care. I am also including a link to a website that may help give you some ideas/options to make vet care more affordable: https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/having-trouble-affording-veterinary-care
