My dog has a new off-white lump on his inner eye. Is it cherry eye?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male

My dog today has a noticeable off white lump on the inner eye, which wasn’t visible yesterday. He’s been around another dog but I haven’t noticed any rough playing. I’ll certainly be bring him to the vet I don’t notice an improvement in 1-2 days, but I’m pretty worried about it now. Any ideas on what it could be? He doesn’t seem to be bothered at all by it

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think it is fine to monitor him for 1-2 more days to see if it improves. My concern would be that this could be an early indication of cherry eye. That is something your veterinarian can confirm with a closer eye exam. Therapy is generally surgery though keep in mind this may be something else. Best of luck!
