Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | 17 lbs
My pug puppy ate his food and now his belly is larger as compared to normal and I think its bloated its been 4 hrs and it's still the same. Is he okay ? Is there anything serious and as he is sleeping now

Bloat usually cause discomfort, abdominal pain, abdominal tension. An animal with pathologic bloat would not sleep and lay on the back quite comfortably. I don't think there is anything to be worried about at this stage. I would monitor him for the next couple of hours, but no further action is needed.

A bloat is a distended, firm abdomen. They can be very uncomfortable and restless and pant a lot. They may cry and get up and down. If he is unable to rest then you may need to see a vet to get him some relief until it all passes. If he is able to rest then it is best to take the food and water away and let him digest what he has eaten and only introduce small meals at a time for the next 24-48 hours

Hello. It is good that Twizzler is sleeping quietly. As long as he remains comfortable with no signs of GI distress, then he will digest his super meal. If he should develop any retching, gagging, vomiting or diarrhea, please see your veterinarian, but most of the food should move out by morning. Thank you.
