My dog has brown stuff on her nails (it comes off of I pick it off) and I’ve noticed she gets the same kind of stuff on her gential area hairs and near her mouth... what could it be? She is a cross between Lhasa apso and shihtzu

This residue can be related to excess oil secretions from irritation, allergies or a yeast infection. It can also be a combination of saliva and environmental debris. I recommend to keep the areas clean and to have Hazel examined by the veterinarian to determine if this is pathological or not. I hope this helps.
