My hamster is old, cold, breathing heavily, and seems to be dying.

I've had my pet hamster for about 2 1/2 years now. I came home from a run today and found out that she was on the floor of her cage on her side breathing very heavily. When I tried to wake her she started shivering so I put my hand around her and she stoped. She had her eye glued together and can't walk properly. She is also very sensitive when I try and pick her up. She won't let me warm her up and she's colder than usual. I think she may be dying but I don't know how to held her!

This sounds like Trico is pretty ill and should be seen by your vet or at an ER clinic ASAP. Moving her to a travel carrier or shoebox with ventilation that is warm, dark and quiet can help keep her calm and get her transported to the vet immediately for care.
