My dog shook his head and a bug came out of his ear. What next?

Hi my dog has been shaking he’s head and going mad jumping on the furniture this morning, my son has massaged the ears and when our dog shook he’s head the thing in the attached photo has came out. It appears to be a life form? He has now stopped shaking he’s head and gone to sleep...many thanks

Wow! That is pretty crazy! I have actually removed insects from dog's ear canals before but this I do not recognize. I'm glad he is better now! I suggest you just monitor him for now and if for some reason the head shaking starts again you should have your vet look down into the ear canals with an otoscope to make sure that there is nothing else in there.
