My young kitten is falling and can't walk. Is her food the problem?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 5 lbs

we got a kitten about a week ago and were told she was 3 months old but after looking closer at her she looks to be around 4 or 5 weeks old. she started having difficulty with her equilibrium and is barely able to walk a few steps without falling. we are wondering if us giving her hard kitten chow and moist treats is the cause.

Hi. No, this wouldn't be the cause. I would be concerned about a medical congenital neurological condition, or an infection in the nervous system. I would take her to the ER right away to be fully evaluated
