Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 lbs
A mommy cat gave birth to five beautiful kittens in my garage a couple months ago. The kittens are fat and playful, but lately, they have had diarrhea. Also, three of the five have their third eyelid showing. A male and female are looking the worst. Their eyes look painful. I gave them a “natural” De-Wormer but do not know if it has worked. The diarrhea is a little better, but the eyes still look bad. Should I use a better De-Wormer or is there a different problem I haven’t considered?

A dewormer would be beneficial if the diarrhea is caused by worms, however if they also have eye discharge or third eyelids showing I would be concerned about other issues ongoing such as a respiratory infection or illness. The kittens, if they are about 2-3 months old, are also of the age where they should be getting their first set of vaccines, exams, etc. It would be best to bring them into your vet for a complete checkup, checking the stool to figure out the cause of the diarrhea, look at the eyes, and get started on a health and vaccination plan.
