My kitten's third eyelid is torn but not painful. Does it need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 15 days old

Looks like my kittens third eye lid is torn? No redness or inflammation or discharge,he's not in pain and it doesn't seem to bother him. Should I be worried? Will it go away on it's own? Thanks

I recommend bringing Chester to the veterinarian. A torn eyelid can cause irritation to the cornea and pain and annoyance for Chester. If you can't get to a veterinarian tomorrow you can put an ecollar on him until you can get to a veterinarian. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
