Hi, we just adopted a 2 month old male kitten from a shelter and found out he has fleas. Can I use dawn dish detergent to bathe him?

Hello. Yes you can. But there are other flea options to use on kittens 8 weeks & older including Frontline, but Dawn is absolutely safe to use & it does kill fleas. Just keep the soap away from his eyes & mouth. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Yes you can bathe them with a little dawn dish soap to get rid of the adult fleas. You can apply a topical treatment, however be sure it is safe to use on cats and kittens. Revolution is a product you can get from your veterinarian that is safe to use on cats as well as kittens starting at 8 weeks of age.
