Why is my cat drooling, eating less, less active, and has bad breath?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

My cat who was a stray has atleast one missing tooth. He has also been less lively or active and doesn't go out much anymore. I think he eats less frequently now even with meats. He also has some saliva drip off when sleeping sometimes. It smells bad. What might be happening to him and how can I help? I'm still working out how to get him to the vet.

I would be concerened about oral disease if Cuddle's saliva smells gross. It can be caused by a diseased tooth, gum disease, cancer, oral infection, etc. You can try offering a variety of cat foods to entice him to eat, and you can also try to put wet food in a blender and make liquid that can be lapped up.
