My dog has fragile bones. Will he copy another dog's jumping on couches?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 lbs

My dog is a mini yorkshire terrier (2 years old) who previously broke his hand and is very unsocial. he has met a friend a couple of times before once in his house and once in the friends house. his friend is 6 months old and is very active and jumps on coaches. my dog does not jump on coavhes. my dog will be staying over at the other dogs house for 5 nights, and i was wondering if he will try to copy the other dog and jump or not because i surely do want him to since he has fragile bones.

It's hard to say whether that behavior will change or not. If you don't want Paco to jump on your friend's couch, then maybe they can block off the room with the couch or put boxes or things on the couch to prevent the jumping.
