Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 7 months old

Earlier I had gsd who does potty urine only if we take him on walk no matter I am well or not unfortunately he passed away due to old age..but now I grow &train bruno in such way that he does potty urine in bathroom floor whenever he feels he go himself to the bathroom &I take him on walk like alternate days for 30 minutes once a day in morning sometimes regular for 2 days so is it possible due to his this walk routine he might can die early because of diseases that he can get from less walk??

As long as Bruno is eating a healthy diet and is not eating too much (is maintaining a healthy weight) and you are able to get him out for a walk at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes or so, I don't see any reason to fear he will die early due to this walk routine. I hope that answers your question! Thank you for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

Some dogs prefer to urinate in a certain location or scenario, such as outside on a walk. But if they don't get to walk frequently enough, they will still urinate somewhere else out of necessity. You can't hold it forever! Holding urine for extended periods of time is really uncomfortable, and it may predispose them to developing urinary tract infections or bladder stones, but it shouldn't cause disease.
