My 9-month-old Lab has blood in her pee. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 6 days old | 17 lbs

I noticed my 9 month old lab had a little blood in her urine..a small amount.. ut some..what would this mean and what should I do?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question. Blood in the urine can be a sign of a UTI, bladder stones, or a disease such as leptospirosis. If she appears otherwise healthy and happy, eats and drinks plenty, you can wait until tomorrow morning to see a vet. If she appears lethargic, ill or distressed, or if the urine appears very bloody, then she should be seen by a vet ASAP. Feed her wet/canned food, add water to it, and make sure she drinks a lot of water to help flush the bladder. Best of luck.
