Is my cat a Maine Coon? He has a broad skull and a seasonal coat.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 years and 3 months old

Do you think that my Fatman could be a Maine Coon? I know it's not an important question but I'm curious. Also his eye is a bit messed up because he got into a fight with another cat. It wasn't started by Fatman as Fatman is usually docile. He growls at times, but never hisses. His coat gets shorter in the summer and longer in the winter. He's an indoor outdoor cat. He tends to get burrs stuck in his coat, but he likes to get them out himself.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Fatman. It is possible that he part Main Coon. He appears to have a similar broad shaped skull. If his eye is bothering him, then I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. Eye disease can be painful and typically requires treatment. I hope this information helps!
