My goat has diarrhea. Could it be from chicken feed eaten yesterday?

My hot has diarrhea and wondering if it could be from the chicken feed he got into yesterday.

It certainly is possible if he ate a large amount. A sudden change in diet can sometimes lead to diarrhea. Keep him well hydrated and make sure he doesn't get into any more chicken feed. Offer his regular diet. You may want to keep him separate from other goats if you have more. If the diarrhea persists, consider submitting a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth.

    Hello. How long ago did the goat get into the feed? If it has been a couple of days & he is improving, then he should be fine. Just make sure you lock up the feed where it cannot be reached again. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

My goat has running green feaces/scours. I had giving them arigrostis grass for the first time. What do I need to do.?
The new grass may have caused upset. Discontinue feeding it or restrict access to area where it grows in the pasture. Discontinue any grain temporarily and feed grass hay. Provide plenty of fresh water to treat or prevent dehydration. An electrolyte replacement beverage can also be considered. A veterinary probiotic may help to restore balance to bacterial populations in the gut. Submit a stool sample to your vet to diagnose intestinal parasites. Keep him separated from other goats in case he is infectious and clean his stall frequently. Wash your hands and boots well before and after tending to him. Monitor for lethargy, decreased or loss of appetite and persistent diarrhea. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating ruminants.

I am so sorry to hear about Fred! Unfortunately, the only way to know what caused Fred's death with any certainty would be a full autopsy by a veterinarian or a veterinary pathologist. In terms of diarrheal diseases in young goats, the cause is typically parasites. Scouring, aka profuse diarrhea, is a common cause of death in young sheep and goats. It can cause rapid dehydration, intestinal bleeding, and nutritional imbalances. My advise to you would be to alert the people from whom you received Fred to see if they have any other animals that might be sick. They should be warned about what is happened, and might even offer to help pay for an autopsy. If you have any intentions of doing this, Fred's remains need to be kept cool in a refrigerator (or if the only option, a freezer). If there is any diarrhea still around on your property, I would bring some of this in to your veterinarian and have it tested for parasites (including coccidia, a very parasite in young goats). Once

Ody, since I have gotten him, has had these burps that smell foul.He has also had rumbles and times where it sounds like something is coming up.He has been eating fine though and has yet to throw up.
Your goat sounds like he may have some trouble with his digestive system. Goats do well on high-quality grass pasture or grass hay. I would be very cautious with any alfalfa or grain, as these items can cause bloat in goats as they are very rich. Some burping/eructation is normal in goats, so what you are noticing may be normal for him. Also, make sure to have him dewormed as goats often have intestinal parasites. Hope that helps!

My goat stopped eating and drinking...He can't walk normally coz of weakness..His nose is running and the potty is too smelly
I would recommend that you have Karoly checked out by a vet. There are some mineral or nutritional deficiencies that can cause a goat to walk abnormally, but do not always cause a runny nose. That could be caused by just being sick in general or indicate a respiratory infection. His urine may smell bad from dehydration. All of his symptoms are pretty vague right now so a physical examination by a vet would be the next step to see what is ailing him so that an appropriate treatment can be started.

My cat had a bloat last night and had diarrhea today he has no bloat but his diarrhea looks like ots solidifying a bit. I recently changed his food but this morning i changed it back to his old brand. But i've been feeding him in small amounts mixed
Certainly a sudden change in diet can cause diarrhea in kittens, and it's good that Peaches has no bloat and his stool is getting more solid. I would keep feeding him the small pieces of cooked chicken in with his old brand of food for the next couple of days. If his diarrhea clears up completely, feed him his old brand of food only. Should the diarrhea come back, I would take Peaches into your vet for an exam.

Can eating rabbit droppings be the cause of my dogs diarrhea
Yes, if your dog has a sensitive GI tract. Dogs won't typically get infected with rabbit parasites. They are usually species specific. Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet ( boiled boneless / skinless chicken and plain white rice) in small, frequent amounts. Continue feeding until the stool is normal. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. If the diarrhea does not resolve, see your veterinarian. Submit a stool sample to rule out other intestinal parasites. Try to restrict your dog's access to rabbit stool.

My dog has mild diarrhea/loose stools but he is asking completely fine still drinking and eating. My brother gave him a wet dog food can a week ago which he is used go dry food since day one. Could that be the cause?
If diarrhea is related to something they ate, it should start within a day of eating the food. The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including eating something he shouldn’t have, bacterial over growth, parasites or even organ disease. If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. We have a goat and his poop is like this, is he ok? If he is not what do we do?
Hi there and thank you for your question about the poop! Here's the scoop: goat droppings should look like pebbles or beans and should not be loose or clump together as seen in the picture you attached. Feces that are clumped together may indicate the goat is receiving a little too much grain in the diet. You may wan to cut back on the grain and increase the hay or alfalfa. Hope this helps!.

It could be due to the chicken from the canned, it may have upset Betty's stomach. It could also be he has diarrhea, which is common in kittens. I'd have him seen by a vet in the morning to get the cause of his diarrhea diagnosed and treated, and to also get a health check. I hope this helps!
