There can be lots of reasons to lick back there. Allergies are the most common cause, and it could be a reaction to flea bites, foods, or the environment. Intestinal parasites and anal gland issues can also cause irritation. Licking can also be seen during the heat cycle of intact females.

    There could be many causes for this, including anal gland irritation or impaction, allergies, or intestinal parasites. I would recommend that Scuzzle Butt get checked out by a vet to look for medical causes for the licking. If they can't find anything, they may recommend medications or a food change for allergies.

    That could be potentially compatible with an anal glands problem (inflammation or infection). A check up would be ideally needed to check the anal glands and squeeze them. Antibiotics and antiinflammatory are eventually needed as well.
