Pet's info: Dog | Cockapoo | Male | neutered | 2 years and 3 months old | 14 lbs
My cockapoo has been excessively licking his right paw for a couple of days now, he doesn’t really like me looking at it but when I get close enough I can see the skin above his pad is quite pink, he’s got long brown fur so it’s quite hard to see his paws anyway but was just wondering what this could be?

Cockapoos can be prone to bacterial and yeast infections in the feet. It’s also possible something isbstuck in the skin. I recommend to have Reggie examined by his veterinarian to get him treatment. Also prevent him from licking at this paw by having him wear an elizabethan collar at all times. The licking can make the foot worse. I hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Licking of the paws is sadly the most common sign of allergies. Due to how pink they are I recommend Oliver sees your vet this week. They can prescribe antibiotics or anti-yeast medications if an infection is present as well as something to relieve his licking. I tend to also prescribe a medicated shampoo to bathe the feet. Below is a link for one as well as an antihistamine if you’d rather try that first. I also put them on Nexgard to cover for demodex mites which like the feet. Good luck! https://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=27307 https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/zyrtec/
