My French Bulldog puppy is vomiting and has diarrhea. Urgent vet?

We have a French Bulldog that is about 10 months old. Two days ago he started acting withdrawn and quiet (he's usually playful). Hes had diarrhea and thrown up many times. We don't know if or what he may have eaten. Our vet, who is also our neighbor is out of town and I'm not sure if he'll just get it out of his system, or if I need to take him to the doctor. Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | neutered | 11 months and 1 day old | 18 lbs
