My cat is suddenly not eating, disoriented, and acting strange.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 years and 6 months old

My cat all of a sudden started itching pretty bad to the point where he was bleeding bad been treated for fleas ticks and mites so then we tried treating him for a fungal infection but to no avail at the moment he is in my bathroom by himself just keeping his head pretty much down and into the wall it's sort of like he doesn't recognise me or maybe he's gone blind maybe but in saying that is definitely not himself is definitely not eating much and he's also hasn't really moved from that location

Puss Puss needs to see the veterinarian today. You are describing signs that sound neurological and these are serious. They can indicate infections in the brain, cancer, hypoglycemia, liver disease or poisoning. Some of these infections (Toxoplasmosis) can be transmitted to humans so it's very important to know why this is happening so that he can receive appropriate treatment. Have him examined quickly. The doctor will need blood and urine samples. Other diagnostics may also be needed. Best of luck.
