My cat's chin scab won't heal after fleas. What product helps?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

My cat had fleas (now cured with Comfortis)...and scrached under her chin pretty badly. It has not healed completely—there is still a scab there. Is there a product I can use to help the scab heal? She no longer has fleas...and doesn't scratch under her chin anymore.

That depends on how long she has had that scab. It takes 10-14 days for most wounds to heal. If the scab has been there longer, it may not be related to fleas. Cats can also get chin acne and eosinophilic granulomas (see links): https://www.petcoach.co/article/feline-acne-signs-diagnosis-and-treatment-of-chin-blackheads-in-c/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/eosinophilic-disease-in-cats/ Likely it's best to have Pandora examined again so that the vet can determine the cause and provide best treatment. I hope this helps.
