Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 11 lbs
Im thinking of getting another cat within the next couple of years and was wondering what would be best since I already have a neutered adult male. He is great with the puppy I got but the local shelter said that since hes so laid back that a kitten might be best. Should i get a kitten or another adult, and should it be male or female ideally? Im worried he might start spraying again if I get a female but I dont know what gender he would most likely get along with.

Likely getting a young adult cat would be best so that they are about the same age and may have similar energy levels. It doesn't matter male or female as long as they are both fixed. Pay more attention to personality and look for a cat who is already in a social situation with other cats. Try to get a cat with a temperament similar to Kovu's.
