My dog is limping after paw surgery and rebandaging. How can I help?

My dog had surgery to remove a tumor on his right front paw. I rebandaged it yesterday, per the vet's instructions, and he's been limping/not weight bearing ever since. How do I help him?

It's hard to know without an examine. First, check the bandage to see if it is too tight. A tight bandage can cause problems like pain but it can also cut off the blood supply (which is bad). Check the incision for any opening or signs of infection. Potter may need to be re-examined today if you can't find a cause or if the foot/incision is compromised. Remember you must keep Potter from licking the incision and he may need to wear an elizabethan collar. I hope this helps.
