Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 months and 5 days old | 8 lbs
My cat Salem is new to our home. We adopted him from a rescue about two to three weeks ago. He's eating, active, and litter box normal. We have noticed these scabs on his back and neck. Should I be concerned? He's not picking at them nor is he crying in pain. He doesn't have fleas and has flea prevention. He's brushed daily.

How lovely for you to take in Salem. No, I would not worry about the scabs. It could be he had fleas before you got him, and the scabs are left over from scratching. If they do not bother him, he's not in pain, and he's not picking at them, no need to be concerned. Now if he starts getting more of them, starts scratching excessively, they don't go away, or get worse, then I would worry and have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.
