My dog has a paw bump. Is it a blood blister, infection, or needs vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 55 lbs

Good evening, I just asked the same question earlier, but for some reason it would not allow me to upload pictures as I submitted the question. I attached 3 pictures of what I found on my dog's paw. It seems like a blood blister, but I wanted a second opinion. It does not seem to bother him until I start touching it, and even then it does not seem that painful. Could it just be a blood blister? Or does it look more like a small infection or something else that may need vet assistance?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Vinny. It doesn't look like a blood blister to me. It could be an infection, a growth, from allergies, or from a foreign body like a grass seed or foxtail. Yes, I do think this is something that needs to be seen by a vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing this, and can treat it. Best of luck.
