Why is my pregnant dog aggressive? Is inbreeding a concern?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have a cocker spaniel named Luka who has been having aggressive episodes were she attacks my two older heathy dogs and now the younger ones. I believe she may have gotten pregnant by one her sons from a litter that we ended up keeping. She’s not having a patten to these episodes and she not attacking dogs she doesn’t know or people. The only problem if she’s pregnant if that her son and here are murals and I’m worried about her health and the puppies health. I don’t know what this can be.

Pregnant dogs can be aggressive. I would separate Luka from the other dogs for now. As for the puppies, there is an increased risked of genetic issues from the inbreeding, but you won't know until the puppies are born. I would have her son neutered to prevent them from mating again. Best of luck.
