Is Tresaderm safe for my cat's face scratches to prevent infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | neutered | 10 lbs

Today I noticed two small scratch marks on my cat's face. Possibly from playing/"fighting" with my other cat. The marks look fresh. I have Tresaderm solution at home, is it okay to use it on the scratches or it'll be okay? I don't want him to get an infection or anything. Thank you!!!

Yes, it is ok to use it to disinfect and prevent possible infections. I would recommend to use it twice daily for the next 3 days and if you do not notice any improvement, to take him to your local veterinarian as oral antibiotics may be needed. Make sure the solution does not get in contact with eyes.
