Why is my 5-year-old male cat suddenly lethargic and clingy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 11 months old | 10 lbs

Male cat, 5 years of age has been super lethargic for a few days and won’t leave my side. Has been using restroom regularly. Have not noticed a change in appetite because I have two cats. Hard to tell how much food is being consumed by each one. Should I take him in to get checked out?

Hello, sorry to hear about Steele. Monitor for any signs of nasal or ocular discharge, vomiting, decreased appetite, or worsening lethargy. You can continue to monitor him if he seems to be otherwise eating well, but if his lethargy does not improve or if youre worries about him, then you should indeed have him evaluated soon. Hope this helps and best of luck.
