Fromm Gold vs Orijen: Which dog food is safer for my pet's heart?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 6 months and 20 days old | 40 lbs

We have been searching and searching and have finally narrowed down our food options to Fromm gold (grain-inclusive) or Orijen (grain free). Any guidance or firm direction on which to go with?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If you are set in between these two, I would recommend Fromm gold that has grain. Keep in mind that grain free diets are not recommended as it has been shown that they can result in heart disease. Best of luck!
