Our grand daughter has a 7 month old, unfixed, male Great Pyranees she would like to bring for a weekend visit. We have a spayed, very mellow, 5 year old rotty who is mostly aloof to other dogs. She has qualified as a therapy dog. We have been told not to worry about the Great Pyr as it is still a puppy and this breed takes a long time to sexually mature with regards to mounting a female dog. Should we worry about conflict inthis area?

As long as the Rottie is spayed, she cannot get pregnant. However, mounting behavior is not always sexual and it can be seen in any dog. Here is a link: https://www.petcoach.co/article/mounting-behavior/ Monitor them closely to make sure the puppy is not overwhelming the Rottie but hopefully they will get along well. Best of luck.
