Is it safe to give cats Frontline Plus a week early for fleas?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 11 years and 1 month old | 19 lbs

I was wondering if I can give my cats Frontline Plus a week early? & if so, can I continue to give it to them every 3 weeks until the flea cycle breaks?

Yes, it is safe to give feline Frontline Plus a week early. However, if you are finding that you need to give it earlier than the label directions to ensure adequate flea control, it may not be a good product for your pets. I have found in my area that Frontline and its generics often do not provide adequate control in areas with a flea infestation or high flea burden. I often recommend prescription products like Bravecto, or a Seresto collar.
