My sick budgie seems worse after vet. Are the medicines correct?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male

My bird was sick and I took him to the vet. He had nasal discharge, tail bobbing and a little of more sleepiness. But still he was chirping with no changes in appetite and seemed active. After taking him to the vet, he seems a little worse than before. Unsure if the vet is scamming me since I have no clue. He has given me 2 medicines to be given to my male budgie. I just want to make sure if the medicines are right and if my bird will be ok. I spoke to the vet again and he said to meet him again

It looks like your vet gave you an antibiotic and an anti-fungal medication. Without knowing what exam/diagnosis was given, it would be hard to determine if this is correct, but these are medications used for general illness in birds so if your vet suspects a general infection or illness, they would be given. If Sunny isn't improving on the medications, additional examination with your vet is best to try and pinpoint the causes.
