Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 13 lbs
My 5 year old cat woke up tonight at 2am extremely quickly and was very scared of something, tail fluffed out, etc. I tried soothing her but even 30 minutes later she is still on edge. Is this likely a bad dream or should I be worried? She had a vet checkup 2 months ago and all blood and urine results checked out okay. She does have moderare stomiogingivitis and had 3 teeth removed about 2 months ago as well (she had 4 removed previous to that). I adopted Jackie off the street at 14 weeks.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Jackie. If it is a one time occurrence, I would not worry too much about the incident. If it continues to happen, then it is likely significant. She could have heard a noise, be experiencing pain, itching or a neurological condition that makes the skin tingle. Her veterinarian will examine her for signs of pain or an infection. Based on these results, therapy can be prescribed if necessary. I hope this information helps!
