Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed | 8.5 lbs

Is it possible for a cat who just had a seizure for the 1st time to be blind and or deaf following the seizure? Lasted appox 2 mins or slightly less than. She is about 18 years old. Takes 5mg Prednisolone SID for asthma. Last bloodwork was Oct 2018- normal. Never had a seizure before. Shes circleing and seems confused. Now shes laying quietly and purring on a heating pad(low setting). Eyes appear dialated a bit.

Poor Lizzy. I'm concerned she had a seizure, and in a senior cat that could be caused by something really serious like a brain tumor. If she did have a brain tumor, that would affect her hearing and vision. Having a seizure is really disorientating to a cat, and it will take her time to return to normal. I would take her into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.
