Can I use natural flea remedies for cats instead of monthly meds?

Hello Dr.! I was wondering if there is something medicinal or natural as opposed to all these shots or pills they have to get monthly for fleas! I know I can't making shots that pets need but I'd like to keep chemicals away from them as much as possible. I have a limited budget I save as much money as I can for my 5 white spayed & neutered cats 1 ginger that decided to stay, he needs to be fixed soon driving my cats crazy! San Antonio Tx is hot, they need relief? Thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 10 months old | 12 lbs

Hello! Unfortunately there are no natural remedies for fleas. They do not work at all, no matter what some people claim on the internet, and some of them are frankly dangerous and can be deadly. We would not be offering the medications we do if they weren't safe. Of course, there is always a chance of side effects, but you find that with any medication. Fleas can cause serious problems in cats, so it's best to keep them protected with medication that actually works. I hope this helps.
