Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chow Chow | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 29 days old | 64 lbs

My pup has been diagnosed with ear mites today and he is given medication for it. But my question is Do ear mites cuase excessive vomiting? Becuase in the past Everytime we give him food he vomits. He is already given every medicine possible for his vomiting but nothing worked. Do ear mites cause excessive vomiting and or nausea? And if yes what are other symptoms that come with ear mites? Thank you

There are several medications to treat ear mites. I recommend to call your veterinarian and ask if this is a side effect. In general, vomiting is not related to ear mites. Here is some helpful information: https://www.petcoach.co/article/ear-mites/ If Chico has continued vomiting, it's important to rule out worms, giardia and then you may even look into a food trial with a hydrolyzed protein to know if dietary intolerance is causing the vomiting. I recommend to ask your veterinarian if the worms and giardia have been tested for and if a food trial is the next step. I hope this helps.
