Puppy ate bed cotton, threw up, but acting normal. Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 8 days old | 4 lbs

Hello, my Shih Tzu puppy began chewing on his bed and swallowed some of the cotton. He threw up the cotton but I am not sure if he threw up all of it. His behavior, bowel movements, and eating is all normal. I am not sure if I should take him to get X-rays or continue to watch him for unusual behavior. I just got him recently and do not have pet insurance and I know the vet can get very costly. I wanted to know if I really should take him to the vet or what precautions I should take? Thank you!

That was not good Loki ate his bed! Since he is acting normally now, I'd just keep an eye on him for now. If he starts vomiting again, stops eating, becomes lethargic, or has diarrhea, then I would take him into the vet. Best of luck.
