My sick dog's breathing feels like a stutter. Is it an emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 5 months old | 104 lbs

I’m just laying with pilot and I had my hand on his stomach and it felt like when he would breathe in it would be like a stutter almost if that makes sense! He’s been kinda sick lately and he has a very appointment tomorrow I just wasn’t sure about that

Keep a close eye on Pilot and make sure to keep your vet appointment. Keep him from running, barking or any other activity which would cause panting. You may also put him in a steamy bathroom for 5 minutes to help break up any mucus. If he gets worse, before your appointment, have him examined at the emergency clinic. Best of luck.
