My active puppy has bloody diarrhea and white vomit. What's wrong?

young, female puppy, not fixed, bloody diarrhea, white frothy vomiting, but not lethargic. Playing and active as normal. Cause/treatment?

Hello. At this point, since you indicate she is active & playing, we can probably rule out Parvo. Vomiting & diarrhea in an otherwise fairly healthy & happy puppy is very likely an intestinal parasite problem. Take a sample of the diarrhea to your vet for an analysis. This should take less than 10 minutes & you will know exactly what might be causing your pup's symptoms & what medication(s) may be necessary. Be aware that your vet will do the fecal without seeing your pup, but may not dispense any medications except for some simple over the counter ones.
