Could my dog's limping be caused by inflamed or infected anal glands?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 1 month old | 11 lbs

Hello, i have a little maltese cross chui that has been limping for a pbout 8 weeks now. I have seen 3 vets and had xrays done which are Attached . All three have diagnosed something different, fracture to the upper femer bone, soft tissue damage, crutial ligament damage. They all have suggested the same treatment which is complete rest only going out for toilet and back in. Ive noticed anal glands are inflamed and possibly infected. Could this be the reason for his limping. Kind regards paula

No anal gland irritation wouldn't cause limping. Since you're getting so many different opinions, I'd recommend going to an orthopedic specialist if at all possible. If not, try the completely resting and see if that helps.
